Obituary of Michael John Martin

Michael John "Mike" Martin, age 47, of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, died unexpectedly at home on August 19, 2015. He was born October 3, 1967 in Troy, PA, a son of John and Sheila (Murray) Martin. Mike is survived by his wife, Amber (Shaffer) Martin. He was a 1986 graduate of Troy High School and was employed by Centre Concrete of Covington, PA as a truck driver and concrete tester. Mike was a member of the VFW in Sayre, PA, Teamsters Local, Fassett Baptist Church and attended Victory Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and his canine companion, Scruffy. Mike was a US Army veteran and served during Desert Storm. Mike is survived by his wife, Amber; 2 sons, Kevin and Steven Goodrich of Nuremburg, Germany, 3 daughters, LaTasha Blaney, Norah and Sarah Martin at home; a son, Nickalous Shaffer; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammi and Jeffrey Fitzwater of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; a special nephew, Drew Shaffer; mother-in-law, Helen Bastian of Wyalusing, PA; sisters-in-law, Nicole and Heather Shaffer of Elmira, NY; best friend, Timothy Jayne of Gillett, PA. He was predeceased by his father, John Martin; grandparents, Horace and June Martin, Courtney and Peg Murray, father-in-law, Nickalous Bastian and aunts and uncles on both sides; a cousin, Ryan Jayne, formerly of Troy, PA. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA.
