Obituary of Shirley J. Smith

Shirley J. Smith, age 70, of Tioga, PA passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at her home following a battle with cancer. She was born January 2, 1945 in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of Dorsey and Frances (VanOrder) Brown. Shirley retired from Mansfield University. She loved the outdoors, camping, sewing, crocheting and country music. Shirley is survived by her husband of 42 years, Colie Smith, Sr., and son, Colie Smith, Jr. of Tioga, PA; special friend, Ronda McCaslin; one step-son, Brian (Collette) Smith of Corning, NY; one step-daughter, Kelly Strope of Towanda, PA; grandsons, Colie Smith III of Campbell, NY, Cody Strope of Towanda, PA, Tyson Kreger of Tioga, PA, and Jessica House of Tioga, PA; several great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Zimmers of Middlebury Center, PA, Janet Parker of Granville Summit, PA, Darlene Hannon of Montgomery, AL, Anna English of Blairsville, GA. She was predeceased by her siblings Margaret Blalock, Leslie Brown, Norman Brown, Dorsey Allen Brown, Carol Delong and Donald Wilcox. In keeping with Shirley's wishes, there will be no services.
