Obituary of Jane S. Hughes

Jane S. Hughes, age 80 of Orland Park, IL, formerly of Mansfield, PA, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. She was born November 8, 1935 in Roseville, PA, a daughter of David and MaryAlice (Strange) Sweely. Jane was the wife of the late Clyde E. Hughes, Jr. She was employed as a Dietary Supervisor at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, IL before she retired. She was a member of the Worth Methodist Church for many years before it closed. She attended the Palos Heights Methodist Church before returning to the area where she attended the Roseville United Methodist Church. Jane enjoyed cooking, baking, socializing, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was very dedicated to the Food Pantry at the Worth United Methodist Church. Jane is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde "Scott" (Karen) Hughes lll of Mokena, IL; 2 daughters, Jackie Flack and Cindy Hopwood both of Mansfield, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice (Richard) Doner of Mansfield, PA; 6 grandchildren, Jeremie Ressler, Melissa York, Grant Hopwood, Vanessa Hopwood, Kristen (Tim) Andretich, Kyle Hughes, as well as 6 great grandchildren; a niece, Joy Schucker. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Tim Parker officiating. Additional visitation will follow from Noon to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel.
