Obituary of Patricia Sweely

Patricia "Pat" Sweely, age 84, of Tioga, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Broad Acres, Wellsboro, PA. She was born August 29, 1931 in Wellsboro, PA, the daughter of Alfred and Angie (Colegrove) Hughes. She was the wife of the late Leigh C. Sweely who passed away in 2004. She had been employed by Northern Tioga School District working in the cafeteria for over 30 years. Pat was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tioga, Fireman's Auxiliary, American Legion of Tioga, and Tioga County Bass Anglers. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Curtin and Mary Sweely of Lawrenceville, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Steve Saunders of Mansfield, PA; 4 grandchildren, Leanne Robbins, Kristie Saunders, Donavon Saunders, Michelle Miller; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marie Bruce of Tioga, PA, June and Merle Preston of Nelson, PA; a sister-in-law, Gretchen Hughes of Tioga. She was predeceased by a grandson, Mark Saunders, and 4 brothers, Alfred, Victor, Harvey, and George Hughes; and a sister, Wanda Vargeson. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Doug Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
