Obituary of R. Robert Burdick

R. Robert Burdick, age 89, of Mansfield, PA, went to meet the Lord on September 17, 2016 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 31, 1927 at Father Baker's Home in Lackawanna, NY to the late Elizabeth (King) Pratt. At 3 years old, he was adopted by the late Ralph S. Burdick and Nora N. (Gould) Burdick. He was married to Arlene (Ball) Burdick on September 27, 1947 in Elmira, NY for 36 years, and Emily Maude (Rose) Arnold on January 8, 1994 in Sayre, PA. He was in the Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt during WWII. He worked for Corning Glass Works of Corning, NY for 10 years. He worked and retired from Ingersoll Rand, Painted P ost, NY with 36 years. Hobbies; pc games, trains and planes. He was a member of the NRA and American Legion. Survived by wife, Emily (Rose) Burdick of Mansfield, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Yvonne) Burdick of Clayton, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Roxy (Ralph) Leblanc of Covington, PA; two daughters, Gail Button of Painted Post, NY; Barbara Foskey of High Springs, FL; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; step sons and daughters-in-law, John (Nancy) Arnold of Sayre, PA; Raymond (Tammy) Arnold of Athens, PA; son, Roger Arnold of Athens, PA; Gary (Nancy) Arnold of Sandstron, VA, and 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild; half sisters, Lenora (Pratt) Portor. He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Arlene (Ball) Burdick; half sister, Grace (Pratt) Chapin, and great grandson, Ryan Alan Smith. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral chapel at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Scott Burke officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Tioga County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Powers Cemetery.
