Obituary of Robert L. Ratches

Robert L. Ratches, age 70, of Mansfield, PA, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 12, 1946 in Hartford, CT, a son of William L. and Mary (Lumbruno) Ratches. Robert was the husband of Kathleen (Miller) Ratches. He retired after 28 years as a 1st Sergeant with the Hartford Police where he served on the Gang Task Force, undercover officer and as a Commander of the Mounted Unit. Robert was a member of the Arnot Sportsmen's Club; enjoyed hunting, fly fishing and wood burning. Robert is survived by his wife, Kathleen; 3 sons, Shawn (Deeana) Ratches of Manchester, CT, Andrew Ratches of Orlando, FL, William (Dawn Lacis) Laser of Willamantic, CT; a son-in-law, Chad Cummings of Millerton, PA; 2 daughters, Jessica (Patrick) Harrison of Albany, NY, Lorrin Adams of Covington, PA; 2 sisters, Sandra (LeRoy) Nash of Enfield, CT, Candice David of Enfield, CT; 7 grandchildren, special grandsons, Bartolo Miceli of Covington, PA, Cash Lewie Cummings of Covington, PA; nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Emily Jaeger of Enfield, CT. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Robert's life on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA.
