Obituary of Fred C. Davis

Fred C. Davis, age 83. of Mansfield, PA, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. He was born April 14, 1933 in Mansfield, PA a son of Leigh and Anne (Phelps) Davis. Fred is survived by his wife, Vida (Hummel) Davis. He was a Math Teacher at the Mansfield High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed running marathons and ran in ten Boston Marathon's. Fred also enjoyed golfing and was a member of Corey Creek Golf Club. He was a very active volunteer with the Mansfield Food Pantry, serving as their current president. Fred was the Treasurer and member of the Board of the Mansfield Free Public Library. In addition to his wife, Vida, Fred is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Ronald Sick of Middlebury Center, PA; two nephews, David (Charisse) Sick of Lindley, PA and Tim (Karen) Sick of Wellsboro, PA. In keeping with Fred's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made in Fred's memory to the Mansfield Hose Co., 381 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933.
