Obituary of Betty J Benson

Betty J. Benson, age 83, of Millerton, PA, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was the wife of Shirley W. Benson for 63 years. She was born on February 24, 1933 in Elmira, NY, a daughter of Arthur M. Sr. and Elvira C. (Spearen) Seymour. Betty had been employed by Artistic Card Co. and Trayer's in Elmira, NY prior to her retirement. She was a member of Jackson Summit Baptist Church; enjoyed spending time with her family and a good meal. Betty is survived by her husband, Shirley W.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah E. Smith of Millerton, PA, Wanda L. (John H.) Sproule of Tioga, PA; 6 grandchildren; great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Arthur Seymour, Jr. of Erin, NY, Albert Seymour of Candor, NY a sister, Rena Abel of Knoxville, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 3 brothers, Merritt "Skeet", Frank, and Howard Seymour. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will immediately follow the viewing at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Alder Run Cemetery, Millerton, PA.
