Obituary of Stuart S. Mackowiak

Stuart S. Mackowiak, age 83, of Mansfield, PA, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Stuart was born on May 7, 1923 in Morris Run, PA, a son of Stephen and Helen (Wichtowski) Mackowiak. Prior to his retirement, Stuart was a teacher in Fairbanks, Alaska. He served as a Military Police Sgt. in the U.S. Army during World War II and the 24th Medical Division in the Korean conflict. Stuart was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield, PA. Stuart is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard Ben and Dorotha Mackowiak of Pine City, NY, Edward and Mary Mackowiak of Elmira Heights, NY, one sister and brother-in-law, Cecilia and Richard Whited of Kalispell, MT, and several nieces and nephews. Stuart was predeceased by three brothers; Raymond, Walter and Floyd Mackowiak, two sisters Dorothy Baker and Helen Hemenway. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church, 242 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA with The Rev. Albert Leonard as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery in Morris Run, PA. The Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 S.
