Obituary of Joyce Jankowski
Joyce Jankowski, age 94, went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2018. Born in Elmira, NY on July 21, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Gretchen (Pierce) Strong.
She survived by her loving daughters, Christine (Fred) Miller, granddaughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Denicola with great grandchildren: Amila, Chase and Vinni; daughter: Amy (Ed) Wilston, granddaughter: Elizabeth; granddaughter Jessi (Justin) Beck with great grandchild Cruz; sister: Joni Barneski; with many loving family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank T, Jankowski, her dedicated son Michael Jankowski, her blessed sister, Gloria Sherman; a brother, Gordon Strong; her precious niece, Gail Gretchen Sherman Silver
Joyce celebrated life with family and friends. She was an outstanding and kind, witty, caring individual and greeted everyone with a beautiful smile and loving eyes. She was a successful business woman, owning Stoneybrook Realty; a gourmet cook and loved canning pickles, jams and jelly. Joyce enjoyed playing games, gardening, painting, poetry, reading, and loved animals. She was at peace while spending her time at the lake and especially fond of Nippy-Doos
North Presbyterian Church was apparent in her life. She served the Lord as a Deacon and many other positions over 70 years of dedication.
Friends and Family are encouraged to attend a Celebration of her life on Saturday, February 24 2018 from 11AM to Noon at North Presbyterian Church located on College Ave in Elmira, NY. A service will immediately follow the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chemung Co. Humane Society and SPCA, 2435 NY-352, Elmira, NY 14903 or the North Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 921 College Ave., Elmira, NY 14901. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S.
