Obituary of Ellsworth A. Smith

Ellsworth A. Smith, age 88, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1929 in Mainesburg, a son of Aaron and Margaret (Webster) Smith. Ellsworth was the husband of the late Janet T. Smith who died on April 1, 2018, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage. He was a truck driver. Ellsworth also served as a church deacon, enjoyed farming and collecting coins. Ellsworth is survived by a son, Lonsworth Smith of North Carolina; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy Smith of Mansfield, PA, Linda and Ronald Copp of Mansfield, PA; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Smith of Mainesburg, Roger and Carole Smith of Mainesburg, Wilbur and Carolyn Smith of Wellsboro, Ted and Alice Smith of Florida, Chester Smith of Mainesburg; three sisters and a brother in law, Betty Rice of Florida, Geraldine Worden of Mansfield, Juanita and Art Meixel of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Angela, Soni, Meredith, Brandon; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendall and a sister, Marian. A memorial service will be held for Janet and Ellsworth on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 1PM at the State Road Baptist Church, 1600 Old State Road, Mainesburg, PA, with Pastor Sherri Butters officiating.
