Obituary of Rebecca Y. Israel

Rebecca Lee (Yeagley) Israel, age 70, of Mansfield, PA, died peacefully Wednesday, December 13, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving children. She was born on May 6, 1948 in Bellefonte, PA, the daughter of Henry and Gladys (Beck) Yeagley. Rebecca was a loving and devoted wife, dedicated home school teacher, and loving mother for many years. Following the death of her husband in 2006, she became a personal caregiver to the elderly through 2016. The highlights of her life were her children and grandchildren, and she continually extended care and compassion to her family, friends, and all who she encountered. Rebecca is survived by her brother Henry Yeagely (Carol) of Centre Hall, PA and sister Dena Yeagley of State College, PA; children Steven Israel of Tampa, FL, Benjamin Israel (Rachel) of Lincoln University, PA, and Chandra Israel of Mansfield, PA; grandchildren Brooke Knecht, Ashlyn Israel, Elliana Israel, and Juliette Israel; her Eagle Scout, Jordan Allen, who was very special to her. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Gladys (Beck) Yeagley, her brother, Steve Yeagley, her husband of 33 years, Burton Israel, and her infant daughter Saranam Israel. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her children would love to receive cards or letters expressing memories of their beloved mother.
