Obituary of Dorothy Jane Michaels

Dorothy J. Michaels, age 92, of Wellsboro, PA formerly of Blossburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. She was born on December 12, 1928 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of George P. Michaels and Josephine (Jaquish) Michaels Wilson. Dorothy was a graduate of Mansfield State College and retired from teaching in 1991 from Warren L. Miller Elementary School. She was deeply involved in the Covington Church of Christ Disciples where she played the organ, directed the choir, and taught Sunday school. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was also a member of the Mansfield Women's Choir. Dorothy is survived by her cousins, Richard (Joanne) Marvin of Covington, PA, Sara (Mike) Lord of Winfield, PA, and Jan (Shawn) Mitcheltree of Mansfield, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and cousins Duane Smith and Russell Marvin. A private funeral service at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. Burial will take place in Gray Cemetery in Covington, PA. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Covington Church of Christ Disciples 2225 N.
