Obituary of Robert Joseph Houser Jr.

Robert Joseph Houser, Jr., age 74, of Blossburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1946 in Bellefonte, PA, a son of Robert and Ruth E. (Brewer) Houser. Robert was a teacher at Liberty Elementary for 35 years and was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church. Robert is survived by his brother, William Houser (Lori) of State College, PA; a sister, Mary Groff of Mansfield, OH; a nephew, Bryan Groff (Michelle) of Columbus, OH; a niece, Sharon Heilman, of Brookfield, WI; a niece, Amy Calhoun of Harrisburg, PA; and a niece Emma Fivek of Paris, France. He was preceded in death by his parents. Known as "Houser" to his friends, he was an active member of the Blossburg Community and took care of the football field for many years and also helped out at Island Park and the pool. Houser belonged to Ten Bears Hunting Club and the Hillside Rod and Gun Club. It was also rumored that he made the sauce for the Sleezy Construction and BBQ Company for many years, but as all workers are anonymous, that can't be verified. A special thanks to Dave and Bev and all his many good friends who helped him feel at home in Blossburg after migrating there from the big city of Bellefonte. A remembrance celebration will be held in Blossburg in the Spring of 2022, time and place to be announced. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
