Obituary of Jose E. Piquero

Jose Enrique Piquero, age 74, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. He was born on September 7, 1948, in La Felguera, Spain, a son of Enrique and Paz (Bourbon) Piquero. Jose was the husband of Louisa Piquero. He worked as an oil barge captain and was a member of Circulo Español in Philadelphia, PA, the Lambs Creek Sportmen's club in Mansfield, PA; the Nessmuk Gun Club in Wellsboro, PA, and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Jose was a veteran of the Spanish Navy where he ran a small ship and was a cartographer of the ocean floor off the West African Coast. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, watching soccer, hanging out at Cooper's Sporting Goods in Mansfield, PA, guns and sporting clays, and shooting groundhogs at the farms of Bill Baker and Dana Leach. Jose is survived by his wife, Louisa; children, Javier (Allison) Piquero of Stevensville, MD, Laura Piquero of Ewing, NJ, and, Severiano (Andrea) Piquero of Malvern, PA; grandchildren, Alejandro, Konstantinos, Maximos, and Leandro; brothers-in-law, Luis, John, and David; nieces Gloria Marie, Ester, and Carmen; and nephew Moises. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Consuelo. In keeping with Jose's wishes, there will be no services.
