Obituary of Leonard H. Campman

Absent from the body Present with the Lord Leonard H. Campman of Wellsboro passed away July 1, 2008 at the Broad Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Leonard was born March 9, 1912 in Morris, the son of Clarence and Mae Williammee Campman. He retired from Davis Furniture, where he layed carpet for 30 tears. Leonard served in the U.S. Army for 5 years, during World War II. Violin making was his hobby, from which he learned the art from a French violin maker in Pittsburgh. Leonard made many nice instruments until his eyesight failed in recent years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, which interests he shared with his wife of 57 years. Leonard attended Cherry Flats Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and looked forward to spending eternity with him. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife, Irene; daughter, Laura Prior (Tom) of Johnson City, TN; granddaughter, Lydia Blalock (JT) of Portsmouth, VA.; grandsons, Daniel (Molly) Matthew and Jonathan Prior of Johnson City, TN.; one sister, Betty Fuller of Wellsboro; a number of nieces and nephews and a special sister and brother in-law, Carolyn and John Blizzard of Union Springs, NY. Leonard was predeceased by a sister, Aileen Brooks. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 11 A.M. at the Cherry Flats Baptist Church with pastor Jim Hill officiating.
