Obituary of Charles Clair Mead Jr.
Charles "Chuck" Clair Mead, Jr., age 70, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 28, 1953 in Blossburg, PA, a son of Charles Clair and Beverly (Fulmer) Mead. Chuck was married to Bernadette (Fuller) Mead, and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on September 18, 2024. He worked in shipping for Ward Manufacturing. Chuck was the president of Ogdensburg Little League and former mayor of Ogdensburg. He enjoyed football, coaching softball, hunting, fishing, bowling, and was a fan of Penn State and Canton Warriors. Chuck attended the Bowman's Festival every year.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Bernadette; a son, Brian Mead of Wellsboro, PA; a daughter, Tresa (Curtis) Kelley of Canton, PA; mother, Beverly Mead of Roaring Branch, PA; six grandchildren, Clayton, Levi, Thatcher, Josie, Reagan, and Oliver; two brothers, Steven Mead of Roaring Branch, PA, and Terry (Brenda) Mead of Roaring Branch, PA; two sisters, Diane Ruhl of Roaring Branch, PA, and Cathy (Tony) Cohick of Ogdensburg, PA; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Ronald Mead; and a nephew, Brett Cohick.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 1pm Ogdensburg Church of Christ 13065 State Route 414 Roaring Branch, PA with Pastor Josh Kelley officiating.
