Obituary of Jerome G. Kostovick

Type Obit Here Jerome Jerry G. Kostovick, age 63, of Covington, PA, died on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Jerry was born on May 25, 1943 in Erie, PA the son of George and Genevieve (Chmielewski) Kostovick. He was the husband of Dolores (Kolivoski) Kostovick. Jerry retired from the Brooks Maintenance Department at Mansfield University after 24 years of employment and was a Communicate of the Blossburg Area Catholic Churches. He was active in the St. Marys Bingo committee, a member of the Mansfield Forth Of July Committee, was an avid fisherman and was active in the Boy Scouts of America from 1979 to 1989 as a Den Leader, Scout Leader and finally as their commissioner. He was also president of the Northern Tier Labor Council AFSCME, Council #13, member of the Dads of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Happy Times Polka Association and a driver for the Black Madonna Choir. Jerry is survived by his wife; two sons; Daniel Jerome Kostovick of Elkton, VA and Joseph Gregory Kostovick of Fort Bragg, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Marie and David S. Lichty of Covington, PA, and Laura and Edgar Rodriguez of Graham, WA; three grandchildren, Wes, Simone and Curtis Lichty of Covington, PA; and a sister and brother-in-law, Antonette and Bernard Maille of Millport, PA. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 15, 2006 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 8 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A vigil service will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 8 PM at the funeral home on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16 2006 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church, 138 St. Marys Street, Blossburg, PA with The Rev. Joseph Manarchuck as celebrant. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Charleston, Twp. The family will provide the flowers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jerrys name to the Blossburg Area Catholic Church Religious Education Formation, c/o Angela Leinhard, 232 Davis St., Blossburg, PA 16912 or to the Mansfield 4th of July Committee c/o Howard Carlson, St. James St. Mansfield, PA 16933
