Obituary of Virgie L. Smith

Virgie L. Smith, age 69, of Tioga, PA, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Virgie was born May 21, 1944 in Lewisburg, PA, a daughter of Edward and Ruth (Tilburg) Cummings. She was the wife of Richard D. Smith. Virgie was employed at TruckLite for 22 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tioga, PA and enjoyed knitting, reading, and her computer. Virgie is survived by her husband, Richard; a son, Jaime (Lyn Lamoreaux) Cummings of Drums, PA; 2 step-sons, Edward (Lillian) Smith of Wellsboro, PA, Carl Smith of Lock Haven, PA; 2 step-daughters, Judy (Donnie) Hurlburt of Lawrenceville, PA, Linda Wood of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Katelyn, Makayla and Magen Miller, Ailicia and Nathan Smith, Hayley Smith, Markia Gordon, Chris Hurlburt, Heather, Matthew, Faith and Michelle Hurlburt, Sam and Angela Paserallo; several great grandchildren; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, George and Pat Cummings of Tioga, PA, Gerald Cummings of AZ. She was predeceased by a step-son, Howard Smith. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Debbie Button officiating.
