Obituary of Jerome W. Fish

Jerome W. Fish, Sr., age 91, of Tioga, PA, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Jerome was born March 1, 1922 in Mansfield, PA a son of Luther and Nettie (Tombs) Fish. His first wife, Louise, preceded him in death on December 23, 1975. He was a retired machinist for Ingersoll Rand and a farmer. Jerome was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a Staff Sargent in the Army Air Corps and served in four major campaigns of WWII. He was a life time member of the Tioga American Legion Post #253, enjoyed hunting, gardening and the outdoors. Jerome is survived by his wife, Catherine; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Melton "Butch" and Sue Fish of Smyrna, TN, Jerome and Catherine Fish, Jr. of Harpers Ferry, WV, Vern and Laura Fish of Nashville, TN; 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Frank Leone of Adams Center, NY, Kathy and Philip Foley of Tioga, PA, Jerona "Jo" and Paul Johnson of Ligonier, PA, Joy and Robert Catherwood of Lindley, NY; honorary siblings, Jack and Pat Deats of Tioga, PA, Marwin and Kathy Cummings of Tioga, PA; step-children, Steven and Linda Jenks of Cameron, NY, Marilyn and Kenneth Thomas of Corning, NY; Daryl and Mae Jenks of Groton, NY, Susan and Derek Gould of Corning, NY, Carol and Dennis Naylor of Corning, NY; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Martha Fish of Wellsboro, PA; several nieces and nephews. Jerome was predeceased by 1 brother and 4 sisters. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with his niece, Nettie Treat officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church, Franklin St., Lawrenceville, PA 16929, or to the Lawrenceville Fire and Ambulance Assoc., Lawrenceville, PA 16929.
