Obituary of Martha Fish

Martha B. Fish, age 90, of Wellsboro, PA, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Martha was born November 11, 1923 in Blossburg, PA, a daughter of Leo and Eva (Kolanda) Boinske. She and her husband, Donald A. Fish, would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on July 4th, 2014. Martha retired from Farm Credit where she was a secretary. She was also part owner of the former Dairyland Farms, and had worked at Ward Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Martha was an avid reader, bingo player, a great cook and loved traveling, movies, and taking care of her children. Martha is survived by her husband, Donald; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Josephine Fish of Louisville, KY, John and Elaine Fish of Lincoln, VT; 2 daughters Donette Dunfee of Richmond, VA, Sylvia Signor of Wellsboro, PA; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Tess Boinske of Deptford, NJ; a sister, Leona Winder of Blossburg, PA; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Boinske of Spring Township, PA. Martha was predeceased by 2 brothers, Leo and Robert Boinske; a brother-in-law, William Winder; and a sister, Rita Chamberlain. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Wellsboro, PA on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. John J. Chmil as celebrant. Burial will be in Welsh Settlement Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA.
