Obituary of Bernice E. Butler

Bernice Elrene Butler, age 94, of Tioga, PA, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Bernice was born March 3, 1920 in Little Marsh, PA a daughter of Coral and Louise (Faulkner) Cloos. She was the widow of Claude C. Butler. Bernice was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She and her husband were owners of Butler's TV Sales and Repair Service in Tioga. Bernice worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years before she retired. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Bernice is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Judy Butler of Fredericksburg, VA, Elwin and Ruth Butler of Tioga, PA; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Claudette and Ben Fairbanks of Wellsboro, PA, Linda and Curt Osterhoudt of Tioga, PA, Patti Abel and Mike Bean of Tioga, PA; a brother, Robert Cloos of Horseheads, NY; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude; a son Rodney Butler in 1966; infant daughter, Elaine Butler; grandson, Gregory Osterhout in 1992; a sister, Virginia Ferris. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Darwin "Tink" Cranmer officiating.
