Obituary of Donna A. Wheatley

Donna A. (Ames) Wheatley, age 87, of Covington, PA, passed into the presence of her Saviour on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born on May 17, 1927 in Covington, PA, she was the daughter of Judson and Matilda (Managan) Ames. Donna and her husband, George E. Wheatley, celebrated 63 years of marriage on August 26, 2013. Prior to her retirement, Donna was employed as a housekeeper with Sampson's Motel in Mansfield, PA. She attended Bakerburg Community Church and enjoyed gardening and crafts. In addition to her husband, George, Donna is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Ann and Brad Evans of Coventry, CT; a brother and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Joanne Ames of Mosherville, PA; two grandchildren, Brent Evans of IL, Megan Hill of MS and 4 great grandchildren. Donna was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters; Naomi, Lucille, Ronald, Leonard, Harold, Terrel and Glen. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following calling hours at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor David Dressler officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Covington, PA.
