Obituary of Dorren Hoffmann

Dorren "Red" Hoffmann, age 85, of Mansfield, PA, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. Dorren was born March 25, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Dewey and Esther (Knepp) Hoffmann. He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Burnham) Hoffmann who passed away in 2003. Dorren was a self-employed truck driver, welder and logger. He was a paratrooper serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Canyon Skydiver's Exhibition Team. Dorren is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Amy Hoffmann of Blossburg, PA; 2 daughters, Julie Lynne Gerow of Tioga, PA, Sandra Elaine Cogan of Harrison Valley, PA; 5 grandchildren, Shane, Amber, Michelle, Marcy, and Brandon; several great grandchildren. Dorren was predeceased by his wife, Mary; a sister, Gloria Hoffmann in 1948. Family an friends are invited to call on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating.
