Obituary of Ronald C. Beshore

Ronald Charles Beshore, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2014, surrounded by his family in his Wellsboro, Pennsylvania mountain home. Ron married Mary Jo Garman in August, 1969. They shared 48 wonderful years of love and adventure. Ron was born in Harrisburg on June 18, 1948, the son of Richard Beshore and the late Janet Diffenderfer Beshore. Ron graduated from Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill, PA and was co-captain of the football team. He went on to play football at Lock Haven University where he graduated with a degree in Health and Physical Education. Ron was involved in sports his entire life as a player, coach, teacher, and Certified Athletic Trainer. He taught health, physical education, and sports medicine for 33 years in the West Shore School District at Red Land High School and Allen Middle School. He coached football at Allen Junior High and Cedar Cliff High School and then was involved in all sports as athletic trainer at Red Land for 20 years. He was a mentor and role model for many students and athletes. Ron enjoyed following and watching sports of all kinds, but especially small college football. He also enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing and many other outdoor activities. He loved being with family, especially the grandkids, and friends. His boundless energy also kept him busy with fitness, home improvements, travel, and working on projects in his woodshop. Ron was well known for his unique and infectious laugh and enjoyed laughing with family and friends. In addition to his wife and father, Ron is survived by his brother, Rick, and his partner, Rick Currie of Brooklyn, NY, his son, Mark of Eldora, Colorado, his daughter and son-in-law, Alyssa and Sean Burrows of Shippensburg, and grandchildren, River and Teagan Burrows.
