Obituary of John E. Newman

John E. Newman, age 55, of Wellsboro, PA, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 17, 1959 in Corning, NY, the son of Edward and Mildred (Avery) Newman. John was predeceased by his father, Edward Newman. A veteran from the U.S Army, he also was a member of the Stony Fork Baptist Church. John enjoyed working around the house and helping his neighbors. John is survived by his wife, Linda (Wickens) Newman; his mother, Mildred (Avery) Newman of Whitesville, NY; his step-mother, Sante Barbara Newman of Elkland, PA; a son, John E. Newman Jr.; 2 daughters, Amber Hodges and Savannah; 2 sisters, Fay Matteson, and Cheryl. Services were held at the Stony Fork Baptist Church with his pastor, Dennis Crumb officiating.
