Obituary of Valorie D. West

Valorie Webster West, 60, of Mansfield, PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 27, 2014. Born November 6, 1954 to Lorene and Vaughn Webster in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Valorie grew up in Marsh Creek and attended the Wellsboro Schools graduating from Wellsboro High School in 1972. She went on to study business administration at Central Penn College and was employed by C&N Bank in Wellsboro for several years before devoting all of her time to her family and other creative pursuits. "Val" will be lovingly remembered by Steve, her husband of 34 years, and her children Trevor, Amanda, Brennon, and grandchildren, Jayce and Alexis (Lexi), who loved spending time with their beloved "Ya Ya." Her love of family always took precedence over outside pursuits. She was first and foremost the caregiver, volunteering her time at her daughter's day care and welcoming into her home many who needed love and comfort. Val was quick to offer advice and compassion and will be deeply missed by her family and close friends. Val will be especially remembered for her quick wit and her sense of humor. Her love of gardening combined with her innate creativity allowed her to create a special oasis to entertain her friends and family in the backyard. Her creative imagination was apparent in several artistic pursuits, most notably her gourd creations which took shape as birdhouses and seasonal decorations. She was active as a crafter for years in many local craft shows, the Athens Arts Fest and Dickens of a Christmas in Wellsboro. Also surviving are seven siblings: Kevin, Elmira, Marceil (Mike Cooney), Wellsboro, Lori (Joe Fuss), Wellsboro, Kerry (Sandy), Wellsboro, Kirby (Cindy), Wellsboro, Beth (Pete Morway), Sinking Spring, and Lisa (Jeff Kreiss), Wilmington, Delaware, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and sisters, Yvonne and Crystal. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S.
