Obituary of Warren Edward Waltz

Warren Edward Waltz, age 86, of Mansfield, PA, died Monday, December 8, 2014 in Pittsburgh, PA with family beside him. Warren was born January 15, 1928 in Mansfield, PA, a son of Ernest and Minnie (Johns) Waltz. Warren was a member of the Mansfield First United Methodist Church, where he served on the Pastor-Parish committee, financial committee and was chairman of the monthly dinner-supper committee for 12 years. Warren was a successful dairy farmer for 43 years, serving on the Tioga County DHIA Board, Tioga County ASCS committee, local Agway committee, Tioga Valley Co-op Director, and was a NEDCO delegate body member. He was also a Richmond Township Supervisor. Warren enjoyed hunting, gardening, making bird feeders and traveling with his wife, Bernadine. He was also an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan. Warren is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Warren and JanElla M. Waltz of Mansfield, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and James Peel of Aliquippa, PA; two grandsons, Ernest, Jr. (Roxanne) and Joshua Edward (Jenna) Burt; 4 great grandchildren, William Warren Waltz, Reba Marie Waltz, Kellie Mae Waltz, and Jonathan Warren Burt; a sister, Mary (Robert) Hemenway. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Bernadine, on October 15, 2012; a grandson, Jonathan Burt, on March 3, 2007; a granddaughter, Cynthia Carolyn Waltz on June 18, 1976; a brother, Arthur Waltz; and a sister, Doris Chamberlain. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, PA with Pastor Richard Berg officiating.
