Obituary of A. Ralph Sandstrom

A. Ralph "Potsie" Sandstrom, age 84, of Arnot, PA, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Potsie was born April 2, 1930 in Arnot, PA, a son of Anton F. and Mary (Eadie) Sandstrom. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Brooks) Sandstrom. He was retired from PennDot in Wellsboro, PA, and Blue Ridge Cable. Potsie was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 9th Reg. Hq., Hq. Co. during the Korean War. He was a member of the Blossburg V.F.W. Post 8730, the American Legion, Morris Run, PA, the Arnot Sportsman's Club, Hillside Rod and Gun Club, and was a 50 year Mason, Blossburg Lodge #350. Potsie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ethel; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, 'Rusty' and Nancy Sandstrom of Arnot, PA, Randy and Shelly Sandstrom of Milton, PA, Timothy and Carol Sandstrom of Genoa, NY; 7 grandchildren, Chad (Jessi), Jason (Renee), Michelle (Brian), Montana (Marshall), Danielle (Jonah), Paige and Ashlee; 4 great grandchildren, Jacob, Nevaeh, Carter, and Cayden. Potsie was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa in 1995. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 7 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E.
