Obituary of Edward Chrisopher Barket

Edward Christopher Barket, age 79, of Wellsboro, PA, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. He was born December 25, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Isabelle Barket. Edward was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Knab) Barket for 30 cherished years. He retired in 1993 from General Electric after 32 years of service. Edward enjoyed history, art and he was an avid sports enthusiast who would walk a mile for a Philly soft pretzel. He was generous and self-giving. He was an alumni of Roman Catholic High School in his beloved Philadelphia and was recognized for his talent as a baskeball player. Edward was also an Air Force Veteran. Edward is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin (Joseph) Widdop; 2 grandchildren, Cayla and Joey Widdop, and his beloved dog, Charo.
