Obituary of Clarence Evan Belcher

Clarence Evan Belcher, age 87, of Wellsboro, PA, and formerly of Liberty, PA, died Tuesday, June 20, 2007, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Clarence was born on April 10, 1920 in South Gibson, PA, a son of Horace G. and Ossie (Wright) Belcher. He was the owner and operator of a shoe repair shop in Williamsport, PA. Clarence enjoyed being a handyman and was a beekeeper. He graduated form the Williamsport Technical Institute, attended the Grace Community Church of Blossburg, bible studies with the Lutheran churches in Liberty, PA, and was a member of the Lycoming County Beekeepers Association. Clarence is survived by a brother, George Belcher of South Gibson, PA, and many nieces and nephews. For many years he resided with the late Dave Sechrist and Daine Bastian on Artley Hill Rd. in Liberty, PA. Clarence was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers; Marion, Russell, Frank, Charles and Louise. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 1 to 2 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2 PM at the funeral home with Elder Duane Wetmore officiating. Burial will be in South Gibson Community Cemetery at a later date.
