Obituary of Robert Stone

Robert Merrit Stone, age 83, of Tioga, Pennsylvania passed away on December 16, 2021 in Corning, NY. He was born in Blossburg on July 19, 1938. Bob retired from Shulmans Inc. in Elmira, NY after many years of dedicated service as a crane operator. Before beginning work at Shulmans, he spent time serving in the United States Air Force. Throughout his life Bob enjoyed watching NASCAR races, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, hunting, camping, and playing cards. He also loved spending time with his family and his dogs over the years, especially Mayla. Robert is survived by his children: daughter, Penny (Randy) Heffner and son, Bobby (Joan) Stone both of Tioga, PA; his brother-in-law Butch (Deb) Sherman of Mansfield, PA; special niece Faye Packard; his grandchildren Mark (Cynthia) Gee, Ashley Moya, RJ (Nikki) Heffner, Danielle (Jason) Bovee, Kayla (Corey) Hopper, Shelby (Macenzie) Button, special great-nephew and niece Jarret Packard and Catie Packard; his great-grandchildren Olivia, Ashley, Katy, Lincoln, Jayden, Trayce, Hadley, Delilah, Rylan, Titus, Sawyer, and Barrett; and his caregiver Cindy Lovejoy. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Sherman Stone, by his daughter Sherry Lee Stone Gee, by his parents Roy Stone and Ada Burrell, his mother-in-law Betty Sherman, and by his brothers Roy, Raymond, and Richard. There will be no services at this time.
