Obituary of Cathleen Elsasser

Cathleen Elsasser, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022. She fought a long battle with Parkinson's disease and remained positive throughout. Cathy was born June 5, 1948 in Brighton, MA, to James and Audrey Keenan. She married Thomas Richard Elsasser on August 16, 1969. They were married for 53 years. Cathy is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, Kerry Ann Elsasser and Amy Marie Morel L'Horset, sons-in-laws Tristan Morel L'Horset and Ryan Kolberg; and grandchildren, Tristan, Thomas, Victor, Tsadiku and Theodore. She was a caring sister to Audrey, Jimmy, Suzy, Janey, Brian, Michelle and Leanne and sister-in-law to Neil and Ginny Elsasser; as well as aunt to 24 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; mother-in-law, Ruth and father-in-law, Cornelius; son, Thomas Richard and daughter, Ruth Ellen. She loved and touched each deeply. Cathy enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse and worked at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, MA), St. Anne Villa (Florham Park, NJ), and Broad Acres Nursing Home (Wellsboro, PA). She loved being a nurse and caring for people. She enjoyed walking, riding her bike, and visiting the beach, especially Cape Cod, MA. She was a caring neighbor and friend, always had a positive attitude, and saw the best in everyone. Visitation will take place at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA on Monday, January 31st, from 3-4pm. A memorial service will follow at 4pm with Reverend Bryan Wright officiating.
