Obituary of Sherry Lee Vanzile

Sherry Lee Vanzile, age 61, of Tioga, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was born on March 23, 1961 in Elkland, PA, a daughter of Wellington and Carmen (Reynolds) Orr. Sherry married William Vanzile, Sr on March 24, 1979. She was a manager for Crystal City Bakery. Sherry also worked for Hitachi Manufacturing, Preston's Market, and Dollar General. She enjoyed life, spending time with her grandchildren and family, knitting, flowers, gardening, fishing, baking and cooking for the holidays, and going for rides. Sherry also loved animals and had a pet racoon. She had a special bond with her granddaughter, Hannah. Sherry is survived by her husband, William Vanzile, Sr.; two sons, William (Heather) Vanzile, Jr. of Elmira, NY, and Michael "Mike" (Kelsey) Vanzile of Big Flats, NY; mother-in-law, Patricia Ann Vanzile of Tioga, PA; two grandchildren, Alexander Cole and Hannah Lynn Vanzile; two brothers, Steven Orr of Scranton, PA, and Daryl Orr of Bath, NY; two sisters, Sylvia Thompson of Tioga, PA, and Sandy (Keith) Fritz of Elkland, PA; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Lori (Terry Keith) Benson of Millerton, PA; and a brother-in-law, Les (Mary) Vanzile of Lexington, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lamont "Butch" Orr, and Eugene "Bucky" Orr; father-in-law, Elwin Vanzile; a brother-in-law, Ford Surine. Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 12-2pm at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Isaac Howe officiating.
