Pauline Morley

Obituary of Pauline B. Morley

Pauline Morley, longtime resident of Blossburg, PA, passed peacefully on October 19, 2022, surrounded by family at the age of 101. Pauline was born January 5, 1921, to Thomas and Agnes (Krolak) Kliber of Morris Run, one of seven children (3 brothers and 3 sisters). She graduated from Morris Run High School in 1940, and that same year married Harold Morley, who served Blossburg as a prominent businessman for many years. Together Pauline and Harold celebrated 37 years of marriage, raising 5 children, 2 sons (Richard and Raymond) and 3 daughters (Leona, Barbara, and Evelyn). She cherished her family, and the loss of her husband Harold in 1977, her son Richard in 2016, Grandson Robby, and Great Grandchildren Dugan and Roslyn left big holes in her heart. A coal miner's daughter, she was a great Mom, Sister, Grammy, Great Grammy, and Great-Great Grammy. Pauline understood hard work. Growing up as a young girl, she picked ground pine and blueberries, cooked meals and cleaned her neighbor's house to help her family get by; and later worked as a cook at the Turkey Farm restaurant and 16 years at Ward Manufacturing, retiring in 1982. Her home was a gathering place for family, where she welcomed everyone with homemade Polish foods, and made sure no one left hungry. She was great at keeping in touch with friends and family, always providing wise advice, and inspiring all who loved her with her strength and determination, her kind and giving heart, and the fact that she always put others before herself. Crocheting was her favorite pastime, producing beautiful afghans treasured by family and friends…and oh, how she loved to play BINGO! She enjoyed telling stories of the past, church picnics, fairs and festivals, travel, and dancing the polka….and what fun she had celebrating her 100th birthday with the town of Blossburg, where many participated in a drive-by parade in her honor. In her own words, "she enjoyed life to the fullest; she did what she could do whenever she could do it." Like her favorite song, "You Are My Sunshine"… she was sunshine to all of us. Pauline is survived by her son, Raymond (Connie) Morley of Ankeny, IA, daughters, Leona (Gary) Ruberto, Barbara (Bob) Stoudt of Blossburg, PA, and Evelyn (Richard) Keefe of Sutton, MA, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Her beloved sister Bernice of Morris Run remains the sole survivor of her siblings. Friends and family may call from 10:00-11:00am on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S Main St, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow immediately with Reverend Bryan Wright officiating. She will be laid to her final rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Morris Run, PA. Pauline was a member of St. Joseph's Altar & Rosary Society and a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church until its closing in 2007. She is a member of the Holy Child Catholic Parish. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a contribution in Pauline's memory to the Blossburg Fire and Ambulance Association or to the charity of your choice.
