Obituary of John P. Burton

John P. Burton, age 82, of Wellsboro, PA passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Broad Acres Nursing Home. He was born on March 8, 1941 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Rex and Velma (Jones) Burton. John was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Vietnam Era and worked as a game warden, a security guard and for the sheriff's office. He was a member of American Legion A&FM Lodges in Arkansas, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. John is survived by his son, Randy (Lynnette) Burton of Mainesburg, PA; daughter Kim (David) Cleveland of Millville, PA; two grandchildren, Dustin and Kaitlin Burton; five great grandchildren; and his companion, Sherry Huck of Wellsboro, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lane Burton and a sister, Audrey Davis. In accordance with John's wishes, there will be no services.
