Obituary of Glenn H. Slaymaker

Glenn H. Slaymaker, age 95, of Bungy, PA, met his Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Harmony in State College, PA. He was born on February 23, 1928, in Bristol, PA, a son of Norman and Ruth (Hart) Slaymaker. Glenn was married to Barbara (Staufenberg) Trout. He worked for Warner Company as the lead electrician before moving to Mainesburg with his young family. There he started farming and running his own electrical company. Glenn served in the National Guard. He was a member of Bakerburg Community Church and enjoyed camping and hunting, loved John Deere tractors (especially the 730), was a WWII buff, enjoyed playing the trumpet and was an avid PSU football fan, attending countless games and tailgates. Glenn is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Glenn (Edie) Slaymaker of NY, and Gary (Cheryl) Slaymaker of Newfoundland, PA; a daughter, Carol (Samuel) Yeckley of Morrisdale, PA; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Slaymaker of Mainesburg, PA; a stepson, Stephen (Susan) Trout, Jr. of CA; three stepdaughters, Deborah (Charles) Murphy of Mansfield, PA, Suzanne (Frank) Ameigh of Liberty, PA, and Rebekah (David) Redell of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Steve), David (Breanne), James (Chasity), Glenn, David (Sarah), Daniel (Jessica), Dean (Victoria); several great grandchildren, Dylan, Damian, Savannah, Bristol, Peyton, Devine, Ransom, Lauren, Janelle, Waylon, Wylie, and Grayson; a brother, Norman Slaymaker of Warminster, PA; and a sister-in-law, Judy Slaymaker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Doris (DenBleyker) Slaymaker; a stepdaughter, Dawn Trout; and a brother, Melvin Slaymaker. Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. - noon at Bakerburg Community Church, 197 Gray Valley Rd., Mainesburg, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Paul Binkley and Pastor Dave Dressler officiating. Burial will take place in Gray Valley Cemetery in Mainesburg, PA. Services are under the direction of Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA.
