Obituary of John Standish

John William Standish, age 77, of Knoxville, PA, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. He was born on October 11, 1945, in Elkland, PA, a son of Vernon Standish and Myra (Van Wagner) Crawford. John worked as a carpenter for D&J Flooring in Westfield, PA and enjoyed tinkering, mechanics, music, bowling, hunting, and fishing. John is survived by his sons, John Michael (Lurleen) Standish of Canton, OH, James Donald Standish of Wyomissing, PA, and Justin Standish of Reading, PA; daughter Carina (Daniel Schmidt) Standish of Covington, PA; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother, Sonny (Carol) Standish of Long Island, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Chet Standish, and sisters, Betty Crippen and Bell Swimley. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 9 Eden Lane, Tioga, PA., with Pastor Steven Neff officiating.
