Obituary of James C. Pierce

James C. Pierce, age 61, of Millerton, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 16 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. He was born on July 3, 1961, in Elmira, NY, a son of James and Elsie (Warner) Pierce. James spent the majority of his life growing up, living, and working in Arizona, but always dreamed of retiring and living in Millerton, PA. After graduating tech school, Jim worked for 3 small companies in Phoenix, always with computers, until he had a chance to work for American Express. After several years, he was recruited by Charles Schwab where he worked for several years. Next, some of his friends were developing a credit card processing company without a network engineer (Electronic Payment Exchange - EPX.com). He always enjoyed "inventing" things, so he joined EPX. In 2014 North American Bankcard purchased EPX. He stayed with the company until illness forced him to retire in 2017. All together, he worked in the computer field for over 30 years. James was a member of the Arizona Repeaters Association and enjoyed woodworking, hiking and backpacking. James is survived by his mother, Elsie Pierce of Millerton, PA; uncle, Sherm (Jeanne) Warner of Millerton, PA, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James. Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10:30-11:00am at Calvary United Methodist Church 6 Franklin St. Lawrenceville, PA. A memorial service will follow at 11am with Reverend Janelle Moser officiating with a luncheon to follow.
