Sherry Sevier

Obituary of Sherry Sevier

Sherry Lynne Sevier left us on July 27th, 2023. Sherry was born on September 3rd, 1965 in Syracuse, NY. She went on to have three daughters whom she loved more than anything. In 1996, after moving to Mansfield, she married her husband, Gary Rogers. When her children were very little she graduated from Onondaga Community College with an associate's degree in nursing. She worked briefly in Syracuse before moving to Pa and finding her love of hospice care. She later went on to get her Bachelor's and her Master's degrees in nursing. She was a compassionate hospice nurse for over 25 years. She helped many patients and their loved ones through the hardest time anyone has to go through. Sherry will be forever missed by the people she loved most in this world. Her husband, Gary. Her three daughters, Holly (Dusty) Griffith, Laura (Kevin Sherman) Bumpus, and Kelli (Kelly) Copley. Sherry was Grammie to 11 grandchildren, Keenan Young, Maddox Correll, Dominic Griffith, Amelia Griffith, Maya Griffith, Ethan Sherman, Austin Sherman, Tristen Copley, Brody Copley, Eivin Copley and Caleb Copley. She also left behind her beloved cat, Lucas. Sherry taught her daughters to be fiercely independent, stand up for what they believe in, and not dull their shine for anyone. She taught them to love hard, enjoy good bourbon, and listen to great music. Sherry did not want any services, but she did request that her girls spread her ashes in her favorite place on Earth, Italy. The family would like to thank many people who helped along the tortuous 7-month journey that we all had to endure. Chasity Kaltenbach for helping Kelli figure out Sherry's health insurance when she was losing hers. Rene Smerdon and the girls in the UPMC Wellsboro ICU for spreading the word about brain cancer and raising money to help Sherry and Gary through a tough time. The Humble Bumble Project for their generous gift. Suzanne Scheib for being a devoted friend and helping to care for Sherry whenever you were needed and right up to the very end. Cindi Zigarski and Kari Root for being there to answer all of our PT and OT questions. Desiree Bourret for helping around the house with what ever needed to be done. Paul Brion for coming to help Gary with the lawn mowing. Lastly, thank you to all of our people. The people we have in our lives that helped us through this hard time and will continue to help us going forward. Sherry loved all cats, big and small.
