Obituary of Gloria Jean Hamby

Gloria Jean (Welles) Hamby, age 73, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren as she hoped she would. She was born on September 22, 1950 in Starrucca, PA, a daughter of the late Donald Philo and Florence Esther (Turner) Welles. Gloria worked at several manufacturing companies and was a lifetime member of the Mansfield VFW. She enjoyed bingo, casinos, family gatherings, and spending time with her friends and family. Gloria is survived by her son, Shawn (Tanya) Jayne of Covington, PA; five daughters, Christa Jayne of Mansfield, PA, Renee (Kevin) Doan of Galeton, PA, Tammy (Donald) Hall of Mansfield, PA, Jodi Hamby of Blossburg, PA, and Terri (Tim) Makley of Mansfield, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Ronald (Janet) Welles; four sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Davies, Brenda Stafford, Donna Young, and Ginger (Val) Hoyniak; several nieces and nephews; her dear friends, Sherry Kennedy and Anjanette Wheeler; and a special caregiver, Wendy Fetzer. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Welles; sister, Pat Smith; granddaughter, Kaci Aumick; two nephews, Toby Smith, and Bobby Welles; and a niece, Angel Welles.
