Obituary of Irene Margaret Kania
Irene Margaret Kania, age 85, of Tioga, PA, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, PA. She was born on July 21, 1938, in Bullville, NY, a daughter of Timothy and Ina (Kinne) Barrett. Irene was the wife of George Gillen. She worked as a bus driver for Pine Bush School District in Pine Bush, NY and enjoyed attending auctions.
Irene is survived by her husband, George; a son, Robert Gillen of Nunda, NY; daughter, Janet Swensen of Middletown, NY; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Gillen, and siblings, John, Dorothy, Alberta, Robert, Joyce and Bill.
