Obituary of Donald MacCain

Donald MacCain, age 86 of Blossburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home in Blossburg, PA. Donald was born September 1, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Raymond and Jean (Crist) MacCain. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and worked as a geography and cartography professor at Mansfield University. Donald graduated from Westchester in 1960 and was an author of several short stories under his pen name Angus MacLander. He published his first book, "Hardscrabble" in 1986, and was a contributor for the Gadfly and Mother Earth News. Donald was a book a day reader, and had a wry, but fantastic, sense of humor. In 1994 he fulfilled his dream, and traveled for 22 years. He started in Delaware, spent 6 months in Nova Scotia, the traveled the US, spending many years in Texas and New Mexico. Donald is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Myers, of Blossburg, PA; sister Lillian Hoshauer of NJ; grandchildren Sapphire (Tom) Matczak, Jayd Myers, Jaycob (Jessica) Myers, all of Blossburg, PA; and great grandchildren Brooklyn, Harper, Royal, Deacon, and Brynlee. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Dakota MacCain, and son-in-law David Myers. In honoring Donald's wishes, there will be no services.
