Obituary of Lester Burton Crumb

Lester Burton Crumb age 90 of Mansfield, PA, died Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Sheila's Personal Care Home. He was born on March 20, 1934 in Rutland, Twp., the son of Ernest and Rennie (Knickerbocker) Crumb. Lester was a farmer, a coal miner, a truck mechanic and had owned and operated Rieppel and Crumb Welding. During his school years he enjoyed sports and played baseball and basketball. Lester had been a member of FFA, Rotary, a charter member of the Jaycees and had been a Hunters Safety instructor. Lester spent many years involved in youth sports. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, outdoor activities, and square dancing. Lester is survived by his children and their spouses Melinda (Jim) Jankowski of Mansfield, PA, Stephen (Bernadette) Crumb of Union, OH, Kevin (Leesa) Crumb of Willingboro, NJ, Rochelle( Richard) Strange of Mansfield, PA, Dennis (Linda) Crumb of Wellsboro, PA, Wendell Crumb of Hanover, PA, and Marcia (Michael) Ehrhardt of Columbia, MD; 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; his special friend Marlene Kemp, of Tioga, PA, and a sister-in-law Gloria Crumb of Pine City, NY. He was preceded in death by daughter Kimberly Crumb, daughters-in-law Trudy Crumb and Lisa Crumb, and great grandchildren Gabriel Crumb and Gemma Bailey. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM to Noon at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will immediately follow at Noon with Lester's son, Dennis Crumb, officiating.
