Obituary of Lorraine C. Stermer

Lorraine C. Stermer, age 80 of Tioga, PA, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Wyoming Valley Geisinger in Wilkes Barre, PA. Lorraine was born June 25, 1943, in Elkland, PA, a daughter of Clyde N. and Nina (Tubbs) Rouse. She worked as a caregiver at Martha Lloyd, was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, PA, a member of the United Methodist Women's Group, and was an avid reader. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth C. Stermer of Tioga, PA; step-daughter Carolyn (Ed) Stermer of Westfield, PA; grandson Joseph (Ashley) Kohler; step-grandson Eric Trowbridge; grandchildren Warren, Leona, Julian, and Roman Kohler; step-granddaughter Juliette Trowbridge; brother Clyde Rouse of Little Marsh, PA; sisters Ruth Ann (Homer) Pierce of KY, Patty Rouse of Troy, PA, and Thelma Wollman of Wellsboro, PA; and sister in law Alyce Moyer of Indian Harbor Beach, Fl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Stermer, in 1997, son Gary Stermer in 1991, step-daughter Lorretta Kump in 1991, granddaughter Nicole Kohler in 2007, and 11 brothers and sisters. There will be a private service at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield PA. She will be laid to rest at Champlain Cemetery in Westfield, PA.
