Obituary of Barbara E. Hines

Barbara E. (Prall) Hines, age 74, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born on June 7, 1950, in Scranton, PA, a daughter of William and Violet (Harmer) Prall. Barbara was married to the late Harry W. Hines who passed away on April 13, 2014. Throughout her life, Barbara worked as a clerk at Bowers Pharmacy, a phlebotomist at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, a caregiver for Ruth & Robert Migliore and a hostess for Home Interiors. She loved being a member of the Wellsboro Fire Department Auxiliary and helping others. Barbara got great enjoyment from gardening, cooking & baking (especially holiday dinners for her family), socializing & arranging flowers. Her favorite seasons were spring & fall. Barbara is survived by her children; Kim (Paul) Gentile of Downingtown, PA, Kelli (Scott) Kincaid of Beaufort, NC, Darren (Angel) Wilson of Tioga, PA, Jason (Elizabeth) Hines of Wellsboro, PA, and Lenae (Wayne) Doty of Wellsboro, PA; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Rich) Henson, Zachery (Julie) Gentile, Ashley (Nick) Smith, Dezzie (Alex) Torres, William Kincaid, Aaliyah, Mia, Cora, Alexandra, and Ronan Wilson, Grace (Lane), Jeremiah and Jorden Hines, Makayla (Parker) McMichael, and Ariana McMichael, Tarah Doty, Brian (Meghan) Doty; great grandchildren, Nolan & Madeline Henson, Eliana Cruz, Jayden & Oliver Torres, Baby Doty; and a brother, William (Bonnie) Prall of Scranton, PA. Barbara is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews and was especially close to her nephew Richie. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; a brother, Ralph Prall; a sister, Diane Rutkowski and a special sister-in-law Adda Gontarz. She will be remembered for her attention to detail, penchant for Halloween & horror movies, her love for her KitchenAid mixer & a tendency to misremember (Karen, Lance, Harper and Levi). Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 2:00 -4:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating.
