Obituary of Phyllis M. Faulkner

Phyllis Martha [nee Crippen] Faulkner passed peacefully from this life at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA on December 21, 2009. Phyllis was born June 25, 1920 on a farm outside Mansfield, PA. The eldest daughter of the Rev. Orey E. Crippen and Martha Frost Crippen, she spent her 89 years in Roseville and then Tioga. Her father was a well-known Minister of the Gospel and Circuit Preacher and was at one time a mail-carrier. Phyllis was a longtime member and past Noble Grand of the former Lawrenceville Rebekahs, and throughout her life she was very active in her Church, the First Baptist Church of Tioga, PA. Additionally, she was a member of the Tioga Boro Council for many years. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Rex E. Faulkner, and they lived in Tioga. She leaves a sister, Ada [Crippen] DeGeus, of Middletown, NY, a niece and nephew, Beth Titus and Tim DeGeus. Her two children are Beverly Faulkner of Penn Yan, NY and Rod E. Faulkner [Leigh Ann] of Elgin, IL. She leaves three grandchildren: Eric [Debra] Faulkner of Beaufort, SC., Meggan [Michael] McCarthy, of Penn Yan, NY, and Marta [Anthony] Argyle, of Valdosta, GA. She was a great-grandmother to Logan and Erin [Faulkner] and Galen and Mikayla [Argyle]. A brief service celebrating her life will be held on December 28 at 2:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.
