Obituary of Vera B. Hall

Vera B. Hall, age 86, of Tioga, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Corning Hospital, Corning, NY. Vera was born October 4, 1922 in Coryland, Bradford County, PA a daughter of Glen and Pearl (Warner) Barrett. She was the wife of the late Walter B. Hall who died on June 2, 2004. Vera was a retired teacher from the Northern Tioga School District after 26 years of service. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville and enjoyed the food and fellowship with The Ladies in the 80s. She owned and operated the former Sinclair Gas Station and the former Halls Mobile Home Park in Tioga, PA. Vera is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Janis Hall of Tioga; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Dennis Smith of Lindley, NY, Marilyn and Allen Wells of Tioga, PA; a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Glenn and Sylvia Barrett of Staunton, VA; a sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Henry Gray of Horseheads, NY; two special nephews who were raised by Walter and Vera, Thomas Hall of Alaska, and Joseph Hall of Athens, PA; several nieces and nephews and special friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, and a sister, Rhea (Charles) Bryant and her parents. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA, and Friday, June 26, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Franklin St., Lawrenceville, PA. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Robert W. Strozyk officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
