Obituary of Alberta A. Greene

Alberta Ayers Greene, age 75, of Athens, PA and formerly of Mansfield, PA, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Ashton Healthcare in Athens, PA. Alberta was born on July 16, 1934 in Lawrenceville, PA, a daughter of Roderick and Alberta (Potter) Ayers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mansfield, PA. Alberta had been employed by the former Dutch Pantry, Penn Wells Hotel, the American Truck Stop, the former Pumpernickel and Eddies Truck Stop. Alberta is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law; Edward and Jeanette Greene of Mansfield, PA, Howard and Timothy Greene of Stow, OH, three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and David Stahle of Houston, AL, Julie and Ryan Rose of Waverly, NY, Cindy and Darrell Jerrells of Barefoot Bay, FL, three brothers and two sisters-in-law; Roderick Ayers Jr. , of Millerton, PA, William and Beverly Ayers of Millerton, PA, Thomas and Kathy Ayers of Red Lion, PA; three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Geraldine and Fetton Cox of TX, Elaine Taylor of Bath, NY, Linda and John Lowery of Canton, PA; a half sister and half brother-in-law, Isabelle and Charlie Ferrngo of Tioga, PA; 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, a former daughter-in-law, Bonnie Parker and two special friends, Virginia Ford and Virginia Case. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Donald Ayers in 2007; a granddaughter, Amber Jerrells in 2002 and two sisters, Cora Hornsby and Dora Bartholomew. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from Noon to 2 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 PM with the Rev. Harry Colegrove officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Albertas name to the Dialysis Unit, Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA18840 or the Activities Dept., Ashton Healthcare, 200 Main Street, Athens, PA 18810.
