Obituary of Merle E. Benauer

Merle E. Benauer, age 74, of Tioga, PA, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Merle was born July 26, 1935 the son of Clarence and Erma (Roupp) Benauer. Merle enjoyed working with friends at the Tioga Hunting Preserve. Merle is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Dewart (Lillian) Benauer; three nephews, Mike (Melissa Stephens) Hutcheson of Tioga, PA, Jeff (Megan Stermer) Hutcheson of Millerton, PA, David (Mary) Finch of Corning, NY; four nieces, Cindy (Carl) Hutcheson of Millerton, PA, Theresa (Hutcheson) (Todd) Degarmo, Tina (Finch) (Scott) Smith of NY, Marletta (Norman) Williams of Stafford, AZ; a sister-in-law, Yvonne (Dolly) Finch; special friends, Rhonda Nagy and Terri Wood of Tioga, PA; several additional nieces and nephews and his canine friend, Payton. He was predeceased by a brother, Ivan Finch and a nephew, Clint Williams. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 8 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Debra Button officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
